JANUARY 2009 - Happy New Year to you.  Much has been said about the significance of the new year, so I won’t add to that.  However with the arrival of each year, I find I need to pay close attention to the date I write on my checks. It usually takes me a few weeks to recondition my auto pilot date scribble for the new year.  So, is that what I think about all the fuss over the new year???  Maybe so.

FEBRUARY 2009 - Happy Valentine’s Day to all you lovers.

I’m working on a new CD, which I plan to have finished by the summer. The completed songs are available now as digital downloads on Snocap on the download page.

On Sunday, February 8^th, I’ll be at the Maitland Farmer’s Market from 11:30am to 1:00pm. The market moved, and is now located at Lake Lily.

MARCH 2009 - March is here. Soon this very Florida “cold” winter will be warmed by spring - I mean summer. I grew up in Maryland and experienced four distinct season. Spring was my favorite. Here in Florida, we go from a mild winter to a very long hot summer. No spring.  We are overlooked by this beautiful season. Still I prefer the Florida climate over some of the places I’ve lived.

APRIL 2009 - Wow!! April is here. Sort of caught me by surprise. March came and went too quickly. It was a busy month for me. So let’s see. What fun thing is April known for, besides April Fool’s Day, and where did that all start?

JUNE 2009 - Bonjour. Thought I’d say hello in French. That’s about the extent of my French vocabulary. I’d love to spend a long period of time in France. Someday I will.

The new CD “This And That” is nearing completion. The recording is finished, mixed and mastered. My good friend and recording engineer Roger Lopez did his magic. Today, Bob Desmond, My great buddy and professional photographer took the cover photo for the CD.  He came up with a great concept.  The CD will be released by July in time for my July 26^th Leu Gardens concert. “This And That” is my 9^th CD.

JULY 2009 - Hello again. I’m awaiting the arrival of my new CD “This And That”. I should have it this week, but definitely by the July 26^th Leu Gardens concert. One of the songs on the CD titled “You”, has been translated into French and is available on a separate CD. I’ll be doing a concert in Paris in a few months and will sing the French version there.

AUGUST 2009 - I received shipment of the new CD, “This And That” and “Toi”, the French version of "You", one of the songs on the new CD a few days ago. This is my 9^th CD.  It amazes me as at one point in my life I never imagined that I would accomplish producing even one CD.  I left Los Angeles 18 years ago, working mostly as a guitarist for hire.  Never thought I would become a singer songwriter, performing my own compositions.  That all changed when I moved to Orlando, or did it change when I left Los Angeles???  Whatever, it’s been a great experience. Will I produce another CD???  I don't know.  As I finish each recording, I find myself thinking that I'll hang it up.  It seems that each CD had its own reason for being, so I guess I'll see where the journey takes me.

SEPTEMBER 2009 - The public school year has begun. Summer vacation went by in a flash. I walk 2 miles each morning at dawn and have noticed the sun taking longer to appear. The last few days, it’s been slightly less humid in the morning, though the Florida mid day heat gives no clue that summer will give way to our brief winter.

OCTOBER 2009 - Let me first wish you all a happy Halloween. I’ve got a busy month. The Florida cool weather brings the music festivals. Have a great month.

I’ll be at The Maitland Art Festival, 10:30am to noon on October 3^rd. The festival is in Maitland at Lake Lily.  Great artists on a beautiful lake.

NOVEMBER 2009 - I’m sitting here at my computer in my music room, typing the November installment of News & Events. The room, also known as the “treehouse”, is on the second story of our house. The front windows look out over our lawn. I mention this because Halloween is a few days away. Here In the “treehouse”, I have a good view of the lawn, which has been converted into a ghoulish graveyard, complete with gravestones and skeletons hanging from the trees. My wife has a passion for decorating the yard and house with things that reflect the festive holidays, rituals and happenings.  I’m sort of indifferent to such things, though this Halloween extravaganza has come in handy when giving directions to our house. “When you turn on my street, look for the graveyard”. Night time is easy. It lights up.

DECEMBER 2009 - Wow! The month snuck up on me. The year snuck up on me. Life has snuck up on me. This entry will be short so that I can post it.
